We are now officially a certified wildlife habitat! @nationalwildlife
Backyard garden refresh with oak leaf hydrangea, gardenia, loropetalum, hastas, foxtail ferns, Lenten roses, and Boston ferns. Black mulch gives a crisp, clean look. Ready for summer in this shady green nook!
This side garden was transformed from boring bushes to a wildflower rock garden. Rocks act as anchors for plants and help highlight their beauty by contrast while creating a natural look. Rock on! 🪨 🌺
New fence, gate and pergola, flagstone path with plantings. Client wanted to incorporate a wrought iron gate so we constructed and stained a pergola to match the new fencing. Her pink roses were protected and highlighted for this natural, English garden feel. 🌹
Since moving into the Duke over three years ago, I have been slowly building my paradise in the back yard. It is a Frankenstein of extras, leftovers, misfits, gifts, and a few purchases, and it is serene. The main feature is “Blueberry Falls Ecosystem”. Inhabited by a hundred little minnows, a dozen tadpoles (thanks, AJ), a thousand little snails, two slider turtles, and plants both hungry and beautiful. A lot of the rock is from a 200-year-old barn chimney taken down by Pops up in Hillsborough. Even have a cardinal sitting on three eggs hidden inside the blackberries. Harper Lee vibes.
Fred, you heathen…
It’s hard to find good help these days…
